Surah Al-Ma’un is the 107th chapter of the Qur’an and consists of seven verses. This Surah addresses the moral and social responsibilities of individuals, particularly emphasizing the importance of caring for the vulnerable in society, such as orphans and the poor.
The Surah criticizes those who deny the Day of Judgment and, as a result, neglect their duties to others. It highlights the hypocrisy of those who perform prayers merely as a show while ignoring the essence of true worship, which includes compassion, charity, and justice. The chapter condemns those who are indifferent to the needs of others and warns against the dangers of superficial religiosity.
Overall, Surah Al-Ma’un serves as a reminder that faith is not just about rituals but also about how one treats others, particularly those in need. It calls for sincerity in worship and genuine concern for the well-being of others.
Surah Al Maun Arabic Text
Surah Al Maoon English Translation
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?
For that is the one who drives away the orphan
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
So woe to those who pray
[But] who are heedless of their prayer—
Those who make show [of their deeds]
And withhold [simple] assistance.
