Surah At Takathur with English Translation

Surah At-Takathur is the 102nd chapter of the Qur’an and consists of eight verses. The Surah addresses the distraction and preoccupation of people with worldly wealth and competition. It highlights how the pursuit of material gain often diverts individuals from more meaningful and eternal concerns.

The Surah warns that this distraction will lead to serious consequences in the Hereafter, including seeing the Hellfire and being held accountable for the blessings and pleasures they enjoyed in life. It serves as a reminder of the transient nature of worldly possessions and the importance of focusing on the hereafter and being mindful of divine accountability.

Surah At Takasur English Translation

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
The abundance [of worldly things] diverts you
Until you visit the graves.
No! You are going to know.
Again, no! You are going to know.
No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty.
You will surely see the Hellfire.
Again, you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.
Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure.
